Alconbury Weald hosts first Beer Festival

Alconbury Weald will be hosting its first Beer Festival on 13/14 April, showcasing a carefully selected range of beer, cider and gin from across the region. Soft drinks will also be available and food trucks will be serving pizza, fish and chips, and a fusion of South African and Jamaican cuisine during the festival.

Urban&Civic, master developer for Alconbury Weald, and Wheatsheaf Brewery have teamed up to host the festival, which is being held in The Pavilion at Alconbury Weald from 11.30am to 10pm on the weekend of 13/14 April 2024.

As well as some of Wheatsheaf Brewery’s finest beers, festival goers can sample beers from Ivo, Papworth, Bakers Dozen, Biochemist, Briarbank and Xtreme Ales. Soft drinks and snacks will also be available from the bar, and food trucks will be serving hot food from midday to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm on both days.

Frank Gillham from Wheatsheaf Brewery said: “We are really excited to be sharing details of our first beer festival and can’t wait to introduce people to the fantastic range of beer, cider and gin produced in the local area. The Pavilion at Alconbury Weald is a fabulous venue and we’re hoping for a dry, sunny weekend so people can sit outside and enjoy their drinks and food looking out over the cricket pitch.”

People coming from the surrounding villages and Huntingdon are encouraged to get the bus, with additional transport being provided from Alconbury Weald to Huntingdon bus and train stations along Ermine Street from 7-10pm on both days. Single tickets are £2 each and will be available to buy from the festival desk.

The Beer Festival is a great way to catch up with friends, family and neighbours in a chilled-out setting. We hope people from the surrounding villages and Huntingdon join the Alconbury Weald community to sample the wonderful range of drinks brewed and distilled locally and discover some of the great spaces and amenities we have to offer.”
