Family activities
Huntingdonshire District Council's Active Lifestyles Team will be bringing a range of multisport equipment, including soft archery, cornhole, large LEGO blocks and more, to keep children and families entertained.
Flypast
Taking place on the same day as the King's Birthday Flypast at Buckingham Palace, a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) flypast is scheduled over Alconbury Weald during the Food Festival to celebrate the development's military heritage - weather conditions permitting.
This year's BBMF fleet includes Supermarine Spitfires, Hawker Hurricanes and A Douglas C- 47 Dakota.
Community art
An exciting addition to this year's Food Festival will be a live mosaic-building artwork created by Allan Levy, who specialises in large-scale photographic mosaics, public art and community participation projects.
Using hundreds of small photographs, Allan will create a single image symbolic of Alconbury Weald. You are invited to upload your photographs from Alconbury Weald in advance and during the event, allowing the artwork to evolve in real time throughout the day. If you have recent or historic photographs from Alconbury Weald you would like to share in advance.
As the festival unfolds, the mosaic will become a visual celebration of the people, food, atmosphere and moments that make the event and place special.
Getting there
There are lots of ways to get to Watch Office Green, including walking, cycling and catching the bus (AW1 and 904). If you need to drive, free parking will be available in the car park behind the Incubators during the event.
Organised by Alconbury Weald Community Association in partnership with Off The Beaten Truck, this year's Food Festival is being sponsored by Redrow.
Visitors interested in making Alconbury Weald their home can also visit the development's show homes during the event to find out more about the new build properties currently available.
