The monthly Farmers’ Market is back with a variety of local produce, artisan treats and baked goods.

Family Fun Day

Alconbury Weald Community Association’s Family Fun Day will run alongside the heritage event with food trucks, The Watch Office Bar & Kitchen’s outside bar, candyfloss and ice creams, as well as Pimms and scones with jam and cream.
 

There will be sports and games with Living Better and a kid’s area with face painting, hair braiding, Wildlife Wonders unforgettable animal experiences and a police car experience. Live music will also be played throughout, with performance from The Weald Thing, Brad Ariss and more.

Heritage Open Day

Find out more about Alconbury Weald’s fascinating past, with highlights including an exhibition on its military heritage and artefacts preserved from some of the World War II and Cold War era buildings that formed part of RAF Alconbury. There will also be a talk at 3pm and pre-booked tours of the Avionics Building. A Dakota flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is also scheduled in the afternoon (weather conditions permitting).

Koalas in Capes! with Terrie Chilvers

Join author Terrie Chilvers for a lively, interactive storytelling event full of superheroes, villains, and plenty of koala-themed fun. Children aged 5 years and over can enjoy an exciting session filled with imagination, adventure, and stories as part of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.

Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge is a nationwide initiative that inspires young readers (4-11 years old) to enjoy books throughout the school holidays.

We’re joining in and will be listening to children read, chatting about their latest literary adventures and awarding a sticker for every book completed from 10am to midday on Wednesdays during the summer holidays.
