Walk on the Weald

Residents, businesses and primary school children are being encouraged to take up Alconbury Weald’s walking challenge in May to support an active lifestyle, connect with nature and raise money for Magpas Air Ambulance.

Those taking up the challenge to Walk on the Weald are being encouraged to cover 100km throughout the month, equivalent to around 3.23km a day, to raise money for the life- saving charity based at Alconbury Weald and be in with a chance of winning a prize! Entrants can sign up as individuals or as a team – with one of the prizes going to the best team’s name!

There are lots of ways to reach the 100km target including walking meetings, walking for nursery/school drop off and pick up, walking as part of your commute or on your lunch break, walking to local shops, joining Alconbury Weald Walking Group (meeting at 12.30pm on Mondays and 7pm on Thursdays outside Swynford Stores) or merely walking around doing household chores.

“Alconbury Weald has been designed with health and wellbeing at its core. The Community Association is championing this event during National Walking Month to encourage residents and those
working at the Campus to get their steps up whilst exploring the extensive network of footpaths and green spaces throughout the development."

“Magpas Air Ambulance joined the Enterprise Campus in September last year and has already become an active part of the Alconbury Weald community. It’s great that we’ll be able to support this life-saving charity through the Walk on the Weald fundraising event.”
