Plans submitted for new rental opportunities at Alconbury Weald
- 24.02.2026
Plans have been submitted for a thoughtfully designed new neighbourhood of 63 rental homes at Alconbury Weald. Located between Garland Park and the future Runway Park, the new development will feature a mix of energy-efficient 2, 3 and 4 beds houses: providing an attractive alternative for individuals, couples and families looking to enjoy the benefits of Alconbury Weald without the need to buy.
The proposed new homes will support a green and sustainable way of life, with excellent insulation and intelligent energy-saving features to ensure year-round comfort and lower energy bills. Homes feature rooftop solar panels, heat pumps, EV charging points plus smart tech for monitoring and controlling energy use.
Urban&Civic has also teamed up with Octopus Energy, who are leading the way in sustainable living, and for a selection of homes that are fully powered by green tech, there will be an opportunity for residents to enjoy Octopus Energy’s ‘Zero Bills’ initiative.
In addition, water saving taps, showers and white goods such as washing machines and dishwashers will help to achieve Urban&Civic’s target of 90 litres of water usage per person per day.
“There are lots of ways to live at Alconbury Weald and these new homes will provide additional opportunities for those looking to rent rather than buy a home at Alconbury Weald. Incorporating lots of great design and sustainability features, this new neighbourhood will be in a fantastic location close to green space, amenities in The Glade local centre and employment opportunities at the Enterprise Campus.”
Subject to planning consent, work is due to start on site later this year, with the first new homes available to rent in 2027. In the meantime, rental properties at Alconbury Weald are available in The Hawkings.
