New coffee shop and community hub opens at Alconbury Weald
A new coffee shop and community hub has opened by Swynford Park in Alconbury Weald, bringing a warm and welcoming space for residents and visitors.
Run by entrepreneurial couple Kayleigh and Jack, Swynford Coffee offers a wide selection of hot and cold drinks alongside a delicious menu featuring toasties, waffles, cakes, milkshakes, sorbet and ice creams, including dairy-free options. Four-legged friends are also catered for, with special ‘pupsicles’ available.
The newly transformed venue has cosy seating indoors and customers can enjoy a dog-friendly deck area as well as picnic benches with parasols outside, which are perfect for relaxing on sunny days.
Created with the whole community in mind, the spaces combine comfort, creativity and connection. Speaking about the launch, Kayleigh from Swynford Coffee, said: “We want to say a huge thank you to all our amazing customers for making our opening weekend so special. The support, the smiles, the queues – it meant the world to us!"
“In two days, we served over 130 litres of ice cream on waffles and milkshakes alone, went through more milk than we could count and powered through over 30 loaves of bread. The cakes were wiped out and our incredible cake maker worked through the night to keep up with demand. Good news is that we’re fully restocked and ready for the week ahead, so come and see us!”
Swynford Coffee is collaborating with Dann’s Ice Cream, a Norfolk dairy farm renowned for its delicious, rich and creamy ice cream. Alongside traditional favourites, the menu includes dairy-free options and refreshing fruit sorbets, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Looking ahead, Kayleigh plans to introduce monthly specials, including new ice cream flavours, waffle toppings and seasonal treats, based on customer feedback.
Swynford Coffee also features a ‘community shelf’ where local businesses can display their products and services for a small fee, which will go to Alconbury Weald Community Association to support local events and initiatives.
