Latest updates on Alconbury Weald in Autumn 2025 newsletter
- 05.09.2025

Hello and welcome to our autumn 2025 newsletter from Alconbury Weald, with updates on the development and future plans as well as the latest sustainability initiatives and community news.
It’s been a busy summer, with planning consent granted and work starting on Alconbury Weald’s new secondary school and plans submitted for up to five new shops in The Glade (opposite the Co-op). The Community Garden is also starting to flourish with the residents, school children and local groups getting involved, and we’ll be sharing our emerging plans and asking for your thoughts on the final phase of Garland Park in December.
The team has also been busy completing the first phase of Prestley Wood management plan, which will help protect and enhance the setting of the scheduled monument contained within the wood. Work on the Southern Link Road is also on track, and it will be connected into the A141 September-November. This will require up to 10 weeks of night closures to Spittals Way (8pm to 6am on weekdays from 18 September).
During the summer we also carried out consultation on the Sports Hub coming forward in phase 3 and invited suggestions for future sport provision within Alconbury Weald. Feedback, along with commercial and planning considerations, will help inform plans being developed.
In addition to development news, this edition of Make/News provides details of the latest housebuilder incentives to buy new homes, updates from our nursery and education providers, details of initiatives to support water saving and sustainable travel, news from the Enterprise Campus, and the latest events and activities taking place at Alconbury Weald.
We hope you find this Make|News interesting and informative. If you have any queries, or have any ideas for future editions, please let us know.
