Illustrator and author Matty Long - best known for his Super Happy Magic Forest books and CBBC animated series, visited Alconbury Weald Community Library earlier in the month for a live drawing workshop that truly brought stories to life. 🦄
This special event was part of the Summer Reading Challenge in partnership with Cambridgeshire Libraries, helping kids aged 4-11 explore the wonder of reading with this year’s “Story Garden: Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors” theme 📚
Keeping the magic alive, we have 5 of Matty's wonderful books to give away, all signed by the illustrator and author himself!

The Giveaway closes at 23.59 on Monday 1st September 2025, with one winner being chosen at random and notified in the comments section. The winner must be able to collect their prize from The Club at Alconbury Weald.

One winner will be chosen at random. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom (Mainland only) aged 18 years or over, except employees of Urban&Civic and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter will be made available on the Alconbury Weald Facebook page and all entries must be made on the Alconbury Weald Facebook page.
Closing date for entry will be clearly stated. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
Only one entry per person is permitted in our Facebook and Instagram giveaway competitions.
All eligible submissions will be entered into the competition. Winners will be chosen at random by software, from all entries received and verified by The Promoter and or its agents.
The winners will be notified via the comment section of the competition post on Tuesday 2nd September 2025 and asked to send a message to the Alconbury Weald Facebook page to confirm the collection of their prize. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 24 hours of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
The Promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected/is delivered.
The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. The prize cannot be exchanged, refunded, or returned. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for monetary value (no change given). The awarding of prizes is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
The Promoter is not responsible for any missed collections, deliveries or damages to items which may be part of the competition prize during transit.

The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry.
